In the Play Online - Login - Arena List area shows the arenas available and number of players. For example: "Main Arenas: 29 players Ardennes Map".

Is there a way to show how the total players are logged in by Side Colors, and possibly allow login directly to a certain side color?

Having the ability to actually log in directly to a specific side could help reduce the side number imbalance...and result in better side number parity.

At least displaying the side numbers would be helpful to know before logging in.

As it is now, unless you check the Roster, one doesn't know what the numbers are at all.

I have asked a couple of folks if they check the side numbers after the log in. Of course they tell me "you can't check number before you log in." But after the argument, he indicated he didn't check after logging in either.

I understand people flying in squads, having favorite wingmen, they like to fly with. But there are a lot of fair folks, "No Squad" guys, and smaller squads that might be able to take note and login to the side with lower numbers.

Just trying to help.

In the S3s the purple field is always the home field. So when you log in you are automatically purple. You then have to decide what colour to fly for. Just would take a concerned player to type .ros to see which side they should fly for.

This has been a concern discussed in and out of the game since I've started WarBirds. Seems to be a concern of many and will probably never be addressed!

Don't even have to type .ros, there's a button for that now.

As long as squads have their members in the main flying together, it is impractical to try and demand balanced sides, especially if you expect any squad to split up to do so..

Nice try jeepny sir. They seem to read more into what you wrote then what you wrote.., When you log into the main your logged into red, but if it was like the S3, you would have a choice of color and maybe notice the side imbalance and have a heart and go green..:) I always look and that's why I'm green most of the time..

Unless it's changed, you log in as whatever color you last logged out as. Only time it's ever not the case, in my experience, is when the colors are changed with terrain\TOD changes(i.e. red\green to purple\gold). Trying hard to see the point, as all ya gotta do is hit the roster button and switch if you feel the need. All of about three seconds inconvenience if side balancing is the goal.

There is a twofold difference (at least). First, the individual is made to select a side each time he or she logs in instead of just sticking with the side they normally log into for that arena. Second, it minimizes the perception that some are logging into one side, reconnoitering, and switching sides with the new found intel. Seems small, but I've read the complaints.

I also know that small changes, such as sending all people to a neutral field at log in, are often met with screaming, crying, and gnashing of teeth.
