New skin for Spitfire fans. Flown in combat by South African
pilot Flt Lt Henry Lardner-Burke, DFC (1916-1970), veteran
of the siege of Malta, seven and a half kills, three damaged.

Hey folks, I was wondering if you like the following screenshots.
It shows propeller holes which are visible when the propeller is
spinning. Of course, compare to the top screen (first post) without
the holes. There is another plane (Typhoon) that has these spinner
holes built into the 3D model. My Spitfire holes are painted on,
but the effect is the same. It looks better IMO when engine is off
and you see the propeller blades coming out of holes.

Do you like this effect? Or should I take off the holes?

Of course I would like to see the semi-transparent spinning
blades like you see in photos of real planes.

Would there be a desire for a Polish desert camo Spitfire skin?

Spitfire MK.IXc belonging to 145 SQN RAF on the
Tunisian Goubrine airbase during April 1943,
piloted from Ace Polish Stanislaw Skalski.

In all honesty, there are already a raft of desert skins options for the Spit IX.

Better another standard camo if you are in the mood.

Completely agree and sorry I didn't check on that.

How about I update the desert camo of FL-A with better colors and fixing errors? Improved pilot face, gray tires and spinner holes?

If you have the time for it then I'd personally love a Polish desert camo as well. Were there Polish Spit IXe's? This Spit version probably sees more usage in the arenas than the IXa. Do note I'm a bit biased though, being half Polish and all. ;)

Also really like the new work you've done, sir! It's always highly appreciated. In the S3 frame last Sunday, while cruising in formation to the Dieppe target area, our squad had a good time comparing each other's choice of skin for the Bf 109's and Fw 190's.

The Spitfire IX PPV skins were recently re-allocated in line with the models we have...
The desert action was 1942/43. The Spit LF IXe was a mid 1944 plane so no desert skins required....

What you should get when Dan gets it right is

Spit IXb (Lardner Burke RAF camo as default)
4 x existing desert camo skins as PPVs

Spit LF IXe (Otto Smik RAF camo as default)
1 x RAF camo PPV (a bit low res and fuzzy)
1 x Australian camo PPV
1 x Plain Grey armed recon PPV

Here's a polish Spit LF IXe for example.

Built Castle Bromwich as LFIX, factory fitted Merlin 66 engine, delivered to 39 maintenance unit 18th Oct 1944.
Served in Casaclanca, crashed in flames in 1945 and struck off charge.

Serial..Mark..Fac..Eng...History
TA864 LFIX CBAF M66 39MU 7-10-44 82MU 18-10-44 SSLS2135 21-10-44 Casablanca 3-11-44 318S crashed in flames 9-9-45 SOC 9-10-45

I like to check the serial no. to confirm its the right variant..

I've been working on an update to the FLA desert camo shown below
with great pilot face, gray tires, lighter colors of camo paint,
propeller holes on spinner, etc. Check out the current paint job in game
and hopefully you will see a big improvement. Is the paint too light
or just right?

I'd be glad to do a Polish skin. The one Bollok posted is fine except
that I can't do the naked gal due to my religion. Just Kidding!
It is a clipped wing plane (TA864) and I think it is not the one you want.

How about this one: Spitfire Mk IX 316, Sqn 1943

Well, looking at internet, found another Polish plane (or maybe the same one)
that has SZJ on side: one is Serial No. EN179 and another is LZ989. Could
it be that when it joined 316 Sqn, it was changed?
My first wife was Polish (named Lyssy). What name is your half, Robert?
