Greetings all,
I've been playing with the new Mission Editor tool a little bit and not quite sure how it all works. There's no buttons to click to start flying and tabs are quite simple. I'm just curious if this is still an ongoing update and should wait for more on it or is there something I'm missing. I just had a random virus (unrelated) and just trying to setup my controls and settings again on offline mode and feel like playing offline missions sometimes. I must say though on the older offline version, 'Defending the Fatherland' was a great time especially when internet was down or was out of service.
Thanks!

a few years ago Gobbels made a tutorial for the ME, might still be around somewhere

edit: there's an abbreviated version in the help folder of WBs

it required the old forum's log in though

There's 3 documents that give a pretty good start to using the Mission Editor:

GoebelsAICreationGuide.pdf (also called Warbirds AI Creation Guide.doc) https://drive.google.com/open?id=1LCPDnwpKvlwWZcuktbxmAwxiJrzEugaw
Mission creation guide.doc https://drive.google.com/open?id=17RAnYYKCkvgqCKo5uLZ8LQsentLWiLlM
ModelingStrategicAI.pdf https://drive.google.com/open?id=19dwRzGnScsyhoc5i8hnW07_SV3-RQHXM

You'll also need some extra info:
1. Vehicle IDs from the pnames.txt file in your WB root directory. Be aware not all the IDs will give you flying models as used online. Definitely ignore those with -32 in the 4th column and stick with planes you find online as given by the plane description.
2. Some WB dot commands in wbcommands.doc in your WB help subdirectory. Those 3 documents above tell you which commands are relevant to running AI mission files.

You can only run missions you create when you are in offline mode. In the online arenas the GENERALs (GOERING or whoever) are the only ones with permission to run the AI missions.

The AI planes do fly somewhat differently to the ones controlled by players.

Let me know if those links don't work.

I personally believe the strategic option works best to represent WW2 air operations. If a script guru could look into that I have a couple alpha stage terrains that would work perfectly with such programming.
