* The FL2084_files.zip files should be copied into the Warbirds App/Contents/Resources folder for MAC users. (PC users just copy them into your main Warbirds directory if the normal updater isn't working)
* The sounds files need to be copied into the sounds directory.
* The ui-rawplanedata files need to be copied into ui\rawplanedata. (the "rawplanedata" folder is found inside the "ui" folder)


--= The Ju 88G-6 Nachtjäger =--
The Ju 88C-6a nightfighter has been remodeled to the Ju 88G-6 version. The G-6 version fields Jumo 213 engines, which are ~350 hp stronger than the engines of the C-6. This results in a significantly increased top speed, as well as the ability to run WEP for 5 minutes instead of 1 min. As such it has an easier time catching it's prey. The climb rate and sustained turn rate are affected positively by this engine upgrade as well. Another important feature is that the Ju 88G-6 has an improved armament, fielding 6x 20 mm cannons, giving it a greater punch when attacking bombers.

P.S. High speed roll rate will be fixed in the next update

The guns tracer interval have been corrected to a realistic interval, rather than what currently looks like a laser beam.

Been testing it a bit and it is much faster and climbs better than C6, but there's something weird in controls. Especially ailerons are quite ineffective and after speeds around 300 mph, the only way to straighten it is to click auto level trim. And sometimes wings declare independency after doing that. Noticed the same when did it with A4 after dropping eggs and taking steep dive.

This is very different what have I read from several autobiographies of JU88 pilots. Bomber, night fighter and zerstörer ones, everyone's been telling its response was good and Finnish Osmo Rantala mentioned highest speeds when diving away from enemy been around 500mph and still controllable.

Or maybe I just cannot fly it properly, as saw it outturning FW190 and outrunning P39 in level... Certain pilots get special editions from factory.

You can special order higher speeds now since the thread showing where to get the upgrade still hasn't been deleted.

Has anybody thought about how this will impact bomber pilots in the main arena? 6x20mm with more speed and better climb? They already have to cope with some very fast and heavily armed airplanes (e.g. the Tempest) , so maybe this addition won't make it a whole lot worse, but it's something to think about. And you can only get the Tempest at a few fields right? Maybe do the same for this new 110?

Rgr Gasted, sir. I had to get the update out as fast as possible to fix the broken planes, so I only quick tested roll rate at slow speed. Will fix the high speed aileron and rudder authority for the A-4 and G-6 in the next update. All other performance numbers should be close to real life performance for the Ju 88G-6 though.


I find it unlikely the Ju 88G-6 can outrun a P-39Q unless the P-39 pilot was doing something really wrong, or only used base throttle. Note that any plane can catch another plane if it starts at a much greater speed/altitude, or none of them have reached their top speed yet. (i.e. top speed is irrelevant when both planes start the chase at a slow speed, as it's rather a pure acceleration competition until they get close to their top speeds).

Turn rate wise the Ju 88G-6 has a large wing area, and quite good power vs weight ratio with the twin Jumo 213 engines. The Fw 190 is the one of the worst turning single engine fighters in the game, with really bad wingloading. From my tests the Ju 88G-6 and Fw 190D-9 should be fairly close, with the Focke Wulf gaining the advantage in a sustained turn rate fight if the pilots are of equal skill.

Well, Robert, this particular pilot who outrun P39 w/JU88G has pretty often aircraft which perform very different way than those most of us get. He is one of the few miracle men, which WB is working to limit. So I don't think there's a mistake in performance of JU88, I'd rather call it "Limited Edition reserved for chosen ones"... :roll:
