Onisan, are you CLAIRVOYANT?
I am in the process of making a couple of skins
for the
He-111 and I have comments for anyone
who might know more, preferably a Luftwaffe bomber
expert member.
On the Heinkel, there are ports on the side of the
fuselage. These are used for guns, I think. On the
model in the game, there are 4 on each side of
the plane and only the fourth one has a gun
sticking out. I was wondering if the other ports
are for guns too? Are they also used as windows
and do they have glass? I have seen some plastic
He-111 models with only 2 open ports and they are
windows with glass, the other two ports are not
open and appear to be doors that can be opened
or not.
Anyway, my question is not related to the above
except that I would like my
Heinkel to look perfect.
I have experimented in the past with what I call "
glossy glass"
(also it could be described as "smokey glass").
It works through a setting in the code for the plane model.
It shows up great using the old graphics game
before we got the new shiny planes of the new
graphics engine in the game now. The "
glossy glass"
does not show up in the current game.
Does anyone know why the glass cockpits in
Warbirds 2018 do not show up looking like
realistic glass? Instead, the cockpits and glass areas
show up as clear for the most part, no reflectance to
speak of.
See my example skins below:
