Somebody should make this process a sticky for MAC users

Hi all, thank you for the responses.

Unfortunately, that process didn't fix the problem. Whether I press the update button in game or go directly to the IEN Updater the download gets partway though and then freezes and quits to desktop. No joy on the update! All previous recent updates have worked without a hitch by simply pressing the in-game update button.

suggest back up settings / sounds and any other customs files.

then do a fresh install

I did an update from the game about ten days ago without problem.
I'm a Mac user and wonder if there a difference between an update
and a "fresh install". I guess this means downloading it from the
Warbirds game webpage, right? Are there different plane skins
available in the install versus the update?

His issue is that the update freezes on him.

If you do a fresh download, you will still need to update when its completed to make sure you have the latest version.

Having said that SPINDZ did say recently he was going to rebuild the default packages with the latest updates - so there is not a butt ton of extra stuff to download as an update.
You have to do this every now and again

so to recap - if you download the game fresh, it might not be the latest version, so you ALWAYS need to update afterwards just to check you have the latest build.

Well, I did a full download. Warbirds downloaded and installed without issues. Of course, it needed to be updated. I tried to do the update, but the update freezes in the same place as it did when I attempted the update last week. I tried the update by pressing the update button in game and also by going to the IEN updater directly. Still no Joy.
