Mirlox, I totally agree with your post.

First WT example is great. The terrain is awesome! However I have an
irrelevant question: what are those weird things projecting forward on the MiG's wings?

Second WT example is crappy choice, my friend. Ugly RAF plane and bad lighting (sun).

I have some more examples of what the new WB game should look like on my Facebook
page, if you haven't seen it, go here:

I think I saw several different kinds of 3d trees, especially on approach to airport.
WB needs to have more variety in trees and foliage.

The fields, roads, cliffs and mountains are very well painted. Water is great. However,
not so great on the beaches and waters' edge.

Black explosion smoke puffs look crappy.

In War Thunder you can change lots of visual effects depending on how turbo your computer is. At one time they had serious issues with players running ultra-low quality to get a gameplay edge but have made great progress leveling the field from low end to high-end PCs, Macs, Xbox and PS4s. This is a AAA online game with many programmers and developers and it shows. For instant gratification players, it is an adrenalin rush for sure. For those hardcore types their simulation battles are exhausting. The stress level is through the roof. Cannot say enough about the attention to detail and graphics development. Where it falls a bit low for me is in its general lack of historical realism and rinse and repeat gameplay with no strategic MMO aspect. But even there Gaijin is attempting to develop a historical strategic World War aspect that so far is confusing to me at least. But its a step in the right direction for players that want more than kill streaks and badges.

I wonder if its possible to approach the War Thunder people and ask if players could run an event similar to the S3? WT graphics look amazing...Once I get my PC built I'll check it out.
