Post subject:  A movie question
Ok fellow WBer's I have a question:

I'm trying to remember the name of a movie. It was made in the late 60's or early 70's. It was a Rat Patrol kinda movie.

It's a story of two American/British pilots that find two German tanks driving in the desert during WW2. They are flying P40's (I think). The two planes go to strafe the tanks and one of them gets shot down. One tank gets destroyed. The second pilot lands and picks up his buddy. Now two in the plane. In that process, the second tank manages to shoot at the second plane and disables it's ability to fly (vatored), but it still runs.

The movie is about a plane, running around in the desert floor trying to get away from the tank.

It was in color and I believe the planes were P40's but I'm not sure.

Any ideas?

Always ready for that kind of action but will alter the manuscript a bit... :mrgreen: .

The movie was really "Death Race" (aka "State of Division"), don't know any similar ones. Typical 70s slightly unrealistic war movie, German tank Sherman, nasty and cruel, abominable Germans chasing P40 and easy to guess who won in the end.

I remember it. May have been a movie of the week.

Had Bridges in it. He would say "Koolant, he is loosing Koolant"

Other thing I remember is when they took off the one younger pilot was told, "if you don't do as I say (or sum such), I will shoot you down myself"
Then they pan to the guys 10 kills or so.

As a kid was "WOW"
