Hey all, I emailed Microprose after waiting in vain for six months to see their website acknowledge that WB2020 is still an ongoing project. I rather doubt they'll be any more forthcoming than IEN has been so far, but hope springs eternal. Also, since nothing seems to be happening with the beta, I excised it from my pc. No more WB in any form now. I'll see if I get any response beyond "hey, thanks for thinking of us blah blah blah from Microprose. If WB2020 comes to fruition- or at least a reasonable beta test of a reasonable facsimile thereof comes along, then I'll be back. Unless it doesn't support VR. If that's the case, then to heck with it altogether. increasingly cynically yours... finn |

Just happened across this post on the steam forum for task force admiral: https://steamcommunity.com/app/1281220/ ... 617421242/ Quote: Interview with Microprose - More Details revealed about TFA Revealed Greeting, my name is Jean Marciniak, co-host of the new podcast Developer Dialogue, a podcast that hosts and publishes the most exclusive and revealing interviews with the industry's top game developers. I wanted to reach out to the fans of the upcoming blockbuster game, Task Force Admiral, as we had on the show Sergio Costa, the Product Development Manager of Microprose. The interview covered all of Microrpose's upcoming games B17, Sea Power, Second Front, and Task Force Admiral. Many juicy details were revealed during the interview, to find out listen to our latest episode on your favorite podcast app: Website: https://www.developerdialogue.com Apple Podcasts https://podcasts.apple.com/us/podcast/d ... 1524192396 Spotify https://open.spotify.com/show/33DiH9pCrcV9bVw4WeDWmS YouTube: https://www.youtube.com/playlist?list=P ... 7xEJUkh9Op Streamer (Web Player) https://www.spreaker.com/show/developer-dialogue I haven't listened to the podcast yet but notice Warbirds 202? isn't mentioned as one of "all of MicroProse's upcoming games". |

seven days later... still no answer. Not unexpected- I HOPE it means they're coming up with something amazing and just keeping the details close to their vests. I have trouble giving up on this game- I want it to succeed so badly that my teeth hurt when I think about it. It was, and could be again, the bast damn WWII air combat game in the world. It needs new graphics, VR, and updated gameplay. Get those things done, and done right, and we've got a great shot at pulling in a younger player base. Right now, it's mostly guys like me- age 50-70plus. finn |

https://venturebeat.com/2020/06/06/how- ... /view-all/ Scroll down, click 3rd page and above the pick of B17: Quote: Stealey: I’m excited about MicroProse coming back. I’m excited that I got to go to Australia to meet with David and his family. I’m going to help him any way I can, and of course he’s helping iEntertainment put out a new Warbirds. We’re looking at a new graphics system completely. It’s the same kind of thing we did at MicroProse. Doing Warbirds, we’re small. We don’t have a lot of resources. But I’ll help David any way I can. I’ll help him on the finance side, because I know that, having been the CFO of a big company at one time. Anything he needs, I’ll be glad to do it, and my reward will be I get to playtest all the games and criticize them and work it out. No, nothing seems imminent. Moreover, in the interview badgas posted, Warbirds gets mentioned only as an afterthought, as something that 'microprose is helping IEN with." It could well be that they're just playing things close to the vest to avoid setting up expectations that can't be met. I know this much- just based on my few conversations with Bill over the years. He LOVES this game. It would be dead if he hadn't kept finding ways to breathe some life into it here and there. Knowing that, I'm sure that Bill is doing all that can be done. It would be nice to get an update tho' wouldn't it? And still no reply from Microprose nearly two weeks on. finn |

Finn wrote: I'm sure that Bill is doing all that can be done. finn Then I believe he would be thinking what other part of the game might be causing the problem besides eye candy (supposedly being worked on) and the FM' development (which is being done as best possible for free). FWIW |

It has now been one month since I attempted to contact Microprose. Busy time, small company... I get that, but that's a long time to wait even for an email telling me to bugger off. finn |
