Pakrat -- The B17f is worse if that's possible. On the "g" the glass is there, it's just so thin that you can barely see it if you position
the glass at a certain angle. I think it can be tweaked in the object file b17g.v3m and I don't know too much how to do this. I've tried
on some planes to make the glass either smokey or glossy. Tweaking worked well back in WB-III or in the pre-Enhanced Graphics
game but not so well in WB-2016 or WB 2018. I wish there would be a parameter for glass thickness and/or opacity. I discuss this
on my Facebook page if you want to visit it.

Hopefully in the new Graphics Engine it will be fixed.

Here's the B17g after I tweaked the .v3m file. I hope you can test this for me
before tweaking, because I didn't do enough before I replaced the .vfc file.

Do a South heading on the Europe map. Altitude = 7000 feet.
Dot command: /.offtime 0803
Don't move your joystick and use the left and down arrow keys on keyboard to view from under plane as shown below
Is there glossy glass?

The glass is not visible from some angles. If you see glossy glass as I described above, then what I tweaked is NOT doing anything.

If you do not see glossy glass and want me to send you my B17g file, just email me or let me know here.

I did the same thing with the B17f but absolutely nothing showed up. If someone who knows about this, FWIW, there seems
to be a really sparse amount of code inside the b17f.v3m file.

Robert,

Do you know why there appear to be 3 B17 files in the WB root directory:

b17.vfc
b17f.vfc
b17n.vfc

yet there are only B17F and B17G in the game tower menu?

It's probably not any of my business to know and probably makes no difference, but just curious.

Update..

Ok had a minit and went to have a look/see.. The B17 G now has a nicely visable nosecone from all angles.... But the b17f has nothing visable fro any angle... just the 50 cal sticking out of the front.. strange..

That has notoriously shown faulty models.

Hey Sakai! Didnt try it ( usually dont need it on them) but I will have a look/see tonite..

Lotsa weird artwork on the Mac side methinks.. Maybe just let it go until the new game comes out.. We'll see.

Spent another hour messing with the .v3m file and no luck. Still no glass.
I even replaced the b17f_2.v3m file with the file from the substantially larger
.v3m from the b17g skin. Still no luck.

I looked at the .mat file and nothing there to help me. There is a file named
b17f_2.mat that has some strange code like:

file c:\downloads\thefinishedbody\...etc. and also
include c:\warbirds\wb3\wb3test\b17f_2.v3m
