Frame 1 from Jabo,
S3 AAR Nov20 2019
Summary:
Frame 1 saw a lot of action, but all seemed to be SE of F46 Tsuyung, the primary Axis target the entire frame. The Axis attacked do not attack in formations and single bombers were easy targets. While a few Vals got through to F46, they did minimal damage. There were plenty of fighter battles. For Frame 2 both sides need to remember and accomplish their objectives to maximize their battle effectiveness.

After months of bombing, the JAAF was finally turned away from Kunming by the newly arrived American Volunteer Group (AVG) and 67 Squadron British Air Forces.
Early reports came in from alert outposts of many Japanese G4M1 Betty’s and D3A Val’s along with Ki43 and Ki27 escorts approaching the Kunming area. The AVG was already on hi alert and patrolling the areas between Hanoi and Kunming. British 67 squadron, currently patrolling the Burma Road raced to engage the enemy.
The JAAF Betty bombers came in hi over 17k while Vals skimmed the ground in an attempt to sneak in unseen. High fighter aircraft flown by the skillful and battle hardened Japanese pilots fought valiantly and managed to knock down several allied fighters.
However the shark toothed Warhawks of the AVG and skillfully flown Buffalos of the British forces won the day.
Shooting down several enemy bombers and fighters, allied forces held off the Japanese attack, keeping all Chinese installations and air bases open.
