Is there a way to smoothly pan the view or are we stuck with the preset positions? I notice in "Controls setup" there is a horizontal view and vertical view based on axis which would suggest you can but I haven't figured it out. I have a Logitech x56 controls. Thanks |

Thanks but I had been researching head tracking after my post and in the supported games of TrackIR5 it list pitch and yaw as outputs which suggest that if I had one plugged in I would be able to select it there for horizontal and vertical views. Not covered in the ancient manual along with other things. |

I ordered a $60 alternative from Movesens expected oct 8th. It does not use IR or cameras. Has to be mounted on top of head phone band and is connected by usb cable. When I get it and test it I'll post the results. |

Sorry for the delay. I sit close to a large screen and was concerned about the optical alignment as it would be a large angle. I have a Trackir2 which is totally obsolete and I paid big bucks back in the day for it. I did a lot of searching to see what was available for head tracking, all of them being optical. One was different that employs no optics at all. It's called TrackIMU by Movsens. It utilizes a microprocessor and a Degree Of Freedom electronics. It has compass and accelerometer stuff built in. The kind of stuff you might use if building your own killer drone or ICBM. At $60 I had my doubts if it would work with Warbirds and if it did how well? I must say I was pleasantly surprised with the results. I can actually see more than I could with the hat switches especially my six. It operates well and smoothly. Since Im the first to do with Warbirds I made a PDF tailored to Warbirds users and shipped it off to Movsens to save you the aggravation of figuring out the settings. The only draw back is I have a usb cable attached to my wireless headset. Note that at $60 there was some soldering but for about $70 you can get it ready to rock. It has turned out to be a good investment that didn't cost me big bucks. You can check it out on their website Movsens.com. I suggest you make the purchase on ebay under "head tracking". If you want to contact use the "contact seller " option from that add. I give it 10 toes up. |
