New Relaxed Realism Instant Action Arena with lots of AI
"Battle of the Bulge Event: 1 Players Ardennes Map"
"Battle of the Bulge Event GV/Bomber: 1 Players Ardennes Map"

This action will help in gaining and retaining new players. We need to allow new players the chance to get involved without struggling in full realistic aircraft. They need an opportunity to get acclimated to our game with a minimum of initial learning, have fun and feel successful as they progress.
New members and seasoned pilots are all welcome to have fun here. All seasoned pilots should be able and willing to answer any questions the new pilots may have. Any of the experienced members willing to step forward, offering to give small bits of training these new pilots need, will be appreciated and doing honor to themselves and our game.
Let's all do what we can to encourage new members, it's in the interests of them and us. Growth is essential for us and WarBirds.

Its actually an attempt at a positive approach to a pressing problem. IN the last 12 months something on the order of over 2000 new cadets have gone to the trouble of downloading WB's, creating a free trial account, and have actually logged in. Oh, there have been a few returnees that have used it, a few guys who repeat use it, etc, but perhaps only a couple of hundred.
This means that there is a huge number who have come in, and a vast majority of them, fly approx. 10 sorte's or so, log out and never come back. CM's etc have tracked these guys, attached to em, watch em, PM em etc, in attempts to work with them etc, usually with no response from them. They hit the runway, wobble down the runway running into things. WHEN they get into the air, a few quick wing wobbles and an auger.
Its clear they having control issues, quickly get frustrated, and leave.
Its also clear, that whatever IEN does to attract new curious people, is that it actually works.....in the last 12 months..if a retention rate of even 10 % were realized we would have a couple of hundred new folks flying WB's.
There are some new ad campaigns coming up that actually look pretty good, and it would not surprise me to see another large influx of people checking this out.
A few tests with new guys, in a relaxed realism mode has shown a greater chance of success in beginning player retention. Hence, a new arena.
Tests have been underway, its up for player evaluation, featuring a new gameplay system in field capture, automated responses to field attacks and a relaxed realism FM. The good news so far is that we are testing how well both realistic FM's and relaxed realism can co exist in this arena. Players can choose realistic FM's to fly or an easier mode.
This Instant Action arena is up for public tests and evaluation of gameplay, interaction of both FM's in same arena, and bug hunts.
Your support and help is greatly appreciated.

Kind of a wild thought here. May be worth the effort, maybe not.
The movie industry is still pumping out WW2 era movies.
This summer, the large budget film "Dunkirk" is coming out.
It looks to feature some great aerial battles, as it was in real life.
Perhaps an ad campaign promoting a Free Dunkirk Event here in WB for the days following the film's release.
Have it set up for relaxed and realistic FMs. Auto takeoff or air starts, etc.

Dunkirk is scheduled to be released on 21 July 2017

Sounds like a good idea for an event, truly it does.
Mayhap use the Blitz terrain, get some ship ai to run back and forth across the channel, put some ai tanks on shore, trucks etc......RAf provides cover for the transports, Germans try and kill em. Early war planes, stukas etc.
hmmnnnnnnn
I kinda like it

~S~ Sleep.

I had every intention of coming back into the new arena (what's its official name?) after a quick sortie in the Main. Well it was only one sortie in the Main that lasted almost an hour. I was WB satisfied when it was done, so I logged.

I'll try to get in there this weekend.

EDIT - Yeah a Dunkirk summer event would be fun. (So would a DoA summer event).
