Here are a couple of issues with the Steam version. (I had to DL it for one of my machines when the regular download files wouldn't work for me on the website).
1. How can you customize your controls/settings? I used to be able to edit a file in the game and insert commands like .slip 1. Now I can't get to that folder at all. Is it on steam?
2. How can you log in with your own account? it wants me to take a two week trial and assign me some callsign.
3. Is anybody aware that the DL page for Windows warbirds is not working properly for some (maybe all) of us?
Thanks
finn

Hello, Finn,

Did you (or anyone else) have a problem with Norton deleting the downloader?

regards,

John

I've asked about that tonight. It sounds like it does not work any longer.

The Steam account Warbirds is separate from the Totalsims Warbirds.

I just tried the download and it worked. the only recent issue had been resolved by a fix from Norton on their program.

I'm assuming you're talking about a fly2.cfg file, where you put stuff like slip, hlsquad, etc. That file only loads when you fly. It used to be a file automatically created by WBs. You now have to create it yourself. If you are writing the file and WBs is not running it, it is usually due to the hidden .txt extension remaining in the file name. You have to disable the hide extensions for known file types feature in Windows to to see the extension before renaming. Otherwise, you get a file named fly2.cfg.txt, not fly2.cfg., which is what you need.

Not sure that's your issue, but if it is, that's the fix.
