Sooner or later somebody has to notice that we have almost ZERO Players in the Greece map. This is not rocket science. It's because the map, though beautiful for S3 Play, sucks for nickels and gives change as a main arena map. I would ratherslide down a 100ft razor blade into a pot of boiling iodine than play on this map See you in a couple weeks. I'd rather bob for french fries. I'd rather set my hair on fire and put it out with an ice pick. I'd ALMOST rather go to Bieber concert. Major suckage has once again been achieved in arena map selection. finn |

Major suckage? You must be talking about having to fly NOE in a 4 engine bomber for 10 mins. to avoid fighters and close a field in one pass or is it fly 10 min NOE to jabocide a field over and over to close. It must be much more challenging to fly 2-3 minutes to do the same. |

Hi Finn, I would agree with you that terrain selection is important. Both to reflect the sanity of the players and the number of folks on. My own opinion is that most of the OLD terrains in rotation should be dropped as people are sick of them. and just stick with 3 newer ones such as GREECE, NORTHSEA and CRIMEA However.... with reduced active areas. (fields outside this area are greyed out / disabled) NB: the images a field filtered and dont show all the fields

I do believe that Spindz figured out how can to take any terrain and completely change the field numbers, types and placement. He used it in the last Korea jet event. This means flattened terrain underneath airfields regardless of location. This could mean reducing the complex field types that would require lots of planning and ord to close to more simple fields to facilitate rapid gameplay in a small area. So for the hated Greece terrain you could just have say 30 fields in close proximity and nothing else in the terrain. Next rotation you could have the same 30 fields in a completely different section of the map or change it to 64. The sky is the limit. Unfortunately Spindz is a programming god that has multiple game titles on his plate. |

Last night I logged because there were 7 players on, and five were red. Gangbanging isn't any fun for me. I don't fly bombers much, when I do, I tend NOT to go NOE. Nor do I bomb and bail in order to return to base 50 percent faster. It must be much more challenging to sneer at others' concerns without really knowing them or thinking it through. I expected better of you. I know better now. finn |

I don't want it to be just a furball arena- it's just that right now, it's so unpopulated that the fun factor is down to zero. It's a GREAT looking terrain, and would be awesome in S3s, OR if we still had 400 players on every night. finn |

Some should be updated; I'd love to see the atoll map made larger- I enjoy that map, but many find it too small. finn |

I expected better of you. I know better now. finn Well I know that NOE bombacide/jabocide makes major suckage for many players still here. They run around hitting bases where there is no competition or run in noe or with 2k alt. (even with 2 to 1 odds) with fighters high overhead and if you go for the buffs you get picked off by the high fighters while you're busy. The bases close and you get backed up, then once the game starts reset they all log. This has made many I knew move on in the past. 40+ players that I've flown with in squads left not long after the Sim became a game. It only took 3 or so years to flush 70-80+ players. If you took my comment as accusing you of doing this; then I didn't convey my message properly. All I'm stating is; this is just as annoying as what's annoying you. This concept bollok and jabo brings up has been hashed out here before. It appears there's no one in the house that has or will give up time to do this. Either a volunteer or the one payed employee. It is a very good idea though. Maybe someone will step forward and freely give up their time as I put any free time I'm willing to into the game volunteering in the FM department. As for your derogatory comment; I hope you feel better now as it doesn't bother me in the least. <S> |

I'm a driver, I'm a flyer, best in the galaxy.... Atoll (asshol), Ardennes, PTO, Europe, Tunisia etc... Targets all identical, all the same orientation... Bombing and attacking the same old shit for 10 years ? Fricking YAWN! Don't care so see any of those for a long time..... for sanity purposes. New maps not so. Northsea for example, Every single field is different, (historical representations of actual) Interesting, more challenging to close and capture.

I am sick of Tunisia, Ardennes, Atoll (Sorry finn) and the small ETO. I also do NOT want to see Tobruk, old PTO or Malta. Cordoning off sections of the larger, newer maps for play in the 24/7 arenas will keep me interested. We have some great maps that cannot, err, are not being used, highlighted or even acknowledged. Yes, the large Japan map would be great. Section it off...south, middle , Tokyo, north (not so much)... Solomons, Bol's North Sea, Korea, Italy.... If the gameplay is going to be just that...a game, then yeah, continue to use the standard maps created and first utilized in the 90s. But if you want to sim, then damnit, use these quality maps. |
