Thought this might be of help to the new players. I imagine not many of them have this to use. Could the powers that be make this sticky?

Excellent idea grumpy, I watched a new pilot trying to take off multiple times and he kept crashing. I did try to offer advice however I suspect he was not aware of the 100 channel. Perhaps upon joining the manual could be emailed to them in order to assist?

Isn't the manual and some other files in the help folder of WB?

RE: knuckr

IMO,

All new pilots should be told about the Forum and wherein to get help.

I wonder if the take-off crashes might be due to not using the rudder
(keyboard = ASD), or maybe not staying in level flight for a while
or maintaining a slow glide upwards before turning? Maybe he should
be told to fly an easier plane? Or one with a prettier skin?

iart7, yes I agree, the forums would be a good idea, however I do think a lot of new players just want to get in game and see how they like it before having to go get help etc just to take off and fly around. I did mention the P38 as its easier to get airborne but as I mentioned, not sure he was reading the 100 channel. I never thought of getting him to change the skin colour!! Lol. This goes back to attracting and keeping new players, which this game desperately needs. Perhaps we are advertising to the wrong people? That being the general tv audience, perhaps a more targeted approach would work, say to flying clubs, schools, groups etc that have an interest in flying and specifically WW2 avaiation. I’m a member of the Commerorative Air Force (CAF) a large group thoughout the USA that is specifically involved in restoration and flying of WW2 aircraft, perhaps we could look at gaining advertising with the thousands of members there? I’m happy to approach them on WarBirds behalf if they like. Let me know.
