The F86 is a pleasure to skin. The shine off the sun is awesome. Thanks Madcat for this great model. ![]() ![]() Now if only there were a pilot model I wouldn't have to PhotoShop him in there! |

I was thinking of doing a skin for our Luftwaffe pilots. What do you think about this plane or JB-106? Maybe a Canadian plane too?

~S~ Da Vinci....er Arturo! I will refer the Assless Chaps to this thread, but may I suggest to use Jagdgeschwader 1, Richthofen skin for the Sabre? Maybe the Jg Guys will want another, but Jg1 was in WW2, too. ![]() ![]() |

Canadian: What? No "Sky Lancers"? ![]() Muzz, post several links. I'll look for one too. Luftwaffe: I like the top #257 a lot and want to paint it. The thing that might hold me back is the thought that this is a digital skin from some other sim. Probably not a game, because I can't think of one that has skins of this high quality. What got me thinking it was a digital creation was the appearance of the two #257 planes. They are the same plane, just painted different. I searched internet for #257, Luftwaffe, F86, Jagdgeschwader 1, Richtofen and could not find this picture. So, it looks digital? Why? • Pilot looking at "Photographer" is same pilot on both planes • White outline of cockpit glass is same, so is white/black nose point • Candy apple red looks unrealistic • Tiny lettering under front port glass panel is same on both planes • Overall the tiny lettering looks too dark and not what I think I've seen on photos, see below http://data3.primeportal.net/hangar/how ... _of_47.jpg • Wing tankse, struts and underwing brackets look the same What makes it look so realistic is the shine and reflections off the metal, smoked gun ports, etc. Very cool. Okay, Sakai sent me the link. It's from DCS. |

Nice 441 Sqn bird. I believe that is a Mk6 (green/gray cammo) and not the earlier Mk 2 that I think is modeled in Warbirds. Could you do something for our 416 Sqn Wingmen? ![]() ![]() ![]() Some tidbits here: http://ontariowarmemorials.blogspot.ca/2012/04/oshawa-cf86-sabre.html Other options ![]() ![]() The "kick start" is a fuel drain/vent |

Absolutely awesome! Careful on the roundel. Looks like you may have used the 1970s pattern for the maple leaf. Ack you're still working the details. Should be white between the black stripes. Thank-you for the effort! |

Yeah, got the white stripes done. Do you mean the stem on the maple leaf or something else? Oh, I see now, the blue is thicker and leaf is different. Will fix. I think the size of the roundels on wings might be smaller, right? Putting more space between letters A S 2 5 0. I changed font to bolder. ![]() Finished this one. |
