Iran has not always believed that the U.S. is "The Great Satan".
Mohammad Reza Shah was the last Shah of Iran from 1941
until his overthrow by the Iranian Revolution in 1979. We were
military suppliers to the Shah and there were a few F-86 Sabres,
one of which I've painted in the #3-140, 1969 colors you see here.
Iran also used several types of U.S. aircraft including F-86 planes
for their colorful Golden Crown Aerobatic Display Team.

Here are scale models that inspired my choice of #3-140 In Asia Minor Colors:

Here is the link so you can see the Golden Crown planes:

TRIVIA QUIZ:
Now this is a curious plane. Ever see an F-5 in the configuration shown below?

If you're bored. Six different 'plane numbers' covers all current TK players.

Three observations:

1. The F-86 model in WB has no pilot. Since this plane used the
first generation ejection seat, perhaps he pressed the wrong button?

2. The top 1/5 of the vertical tail was painted gray, including my
camouflage Iranian fighter, the Canadair above and including
some of the Japanese planes. Does anyone know why?

3. No one took the poll? No one brave enough to guess? No fair looking at Google.
