Post subject:  Help plz, keep having discos

Hi fellas,
I was hoping someone could shed some light on why I'm having disco problems these last couple of days, and today seems to be worse. I not too knowledgeable about computers and have tried updating the driver from You tube videos I've been watching with some fear of wiping my entire system . When it discos I receive an error message that my Intel display driver stops working. I've also tried updating the driver from Intel Driver & Support Assistance on their website but it says it's up to date with no current updates available.

My system is an Asus gaming laptop I spent a lot for and have rarely had problems running Warbirds.
-Windows 8.1
-Processor Intel(R) Core(TM) i7-4710HG CPU @ 2.50gHz
-64-bit Operating System, x64-based processor
-Display Adapters:
-Intel(R) HD Graphics 4600 current version 10.18.10.3379
-NVIDIA GeForce GTX 860M

Any hints what I could from you computer guys would be greatly appreciated. I do also have a Best-Buy Geeksquad membership so I could also take my laptop into them. Thank you very much!
-Wes

Does it only do that when playing warbirds or when general browsing also?
Is your windows up to date?

does sound like a driver issue.

aside from windows update

nvidia gpu update

It only happened while playing WB's. General browsing seems fine. I did run the Nvidia update you have linked plus I did run some optional Windows updates that were additional besides the general Windows update I ran this morning.

I will test WB's out again here in a bit, and Thank you very much for your time and knowledge Bollok!

Are you using both video cards? My laptop has problems with running certain games when I had the option ticked to use both.

I use just the ATI card not the built in on the motherboard card.

Don't know if that would help.

another thing you can try is

open main warbirds folder and DELETE file - gfx9set.cfg

start warbirds and you will get the pop up box to reconfirm your gfx settings and resolution etc.
this gets saved as a new gfx9set.cfg

Thanks for the replies and here's an update.
First I tried deleting the gfx9set.cfg file and then logged on, shortly after having a disco. Although I never got the pop up box to reconfirm my gfx settings.
Next I disabled the Intel graphics and the game went screwy, it wasn't showing the ground at all and being warpy.
Next I disabled the NVIDIA graphics instead and played great for about an hour with only one disco. Heavy dogfighting with about 20 players online, and system not being warpy at all. I will continue to test this out tomorrow and let you know. Once again I really appreciate the help. :D

Your not having your computer crash now and just having a disco?

My newer build box with a Radeon rx480 every so often will crash and sometimes the error code has to do with the ATI driver. Other times it's something else. My guess is something with my box, windows 10 pro and Warbirds as I have no problems with other games or any other programs include video stress tests and such.

I just except the facts and keep trying to figure out why now and then.

Correct Grumpy although my computer hasn't ever been crashing, just the display driver error discos. Last night and this morning I've been testing it with good results. Thanks Fellas!

Even more important question: Do you use a wireless network or do you have a cable from your modem to your computer, sir? If not then I'd recommend to buy a cable, as it is way more stable for gaming. I believe Warbirds doesn't allow much net lag, as it would otherwise cause huge warping when fighting guys with an unstable connection.
