For those interested in what this is all about... The flight model has been totally rebuilt using the latest methodology. Maximum angle of attack, flight envelope, stall speeds, control feel throughout speed range, load limits etc. The FM uses the same RR Merlin powerplant as will feature on the forthcoming the Mosquito BIV, NFII and the Hurricaine II series flight models. For those interested in some numbers.. here are some test flight results. TEST FLIGHT ============== Weight 65,000lbs (max normal take-off weight) BST1 climb @ 160 CS. 5,000ft in 6.5 min with 12 miles covered 10,000ft in 13.25 min with 32.5 miles covered 12,000ft in 16.0 min with 40 miles covered 15,000ft in 21.5 min with 58.5 miles covered 17,000ft in 25.5 min with 72.0 miles covered 18,000ft in 27.5 min with 80.0 miles covered 20,000ft in 33.25 min with 100.0 miles covered ============== Weight 56,500lbs (20% fuel and 14k of bombs normal Legacy arena take-off weight) BST1 climb @ 160 CS. 5,000ft in 5.15 min with 8.1 miles covered 10,000ft in 10.0 min with 23 miles covered 12,000ft in 12.0 min with 29 miles covered 15,000ft in 16.0 min with 42 miles covered 17,000ft in 18.5 min with 51.0 miles covered 18,000ft in 20.0 min with 56.0 miles covered 20,000ft in 23.15 min with 68.0 miles covered 23,000ft in 32.25 min with 103.0 miles covered 24,000ft in 37.5 mins - max achievable as CR drops below 100 |

Hi guys, There is a bug fix coming for the newly released Lancasters. Unfortunately they are both about 3000 lbs overweight at the moment due to gunner ammo weight not being factored in. the climb performance will be slightly affected in the meantime. <S ![]() |
