I may not get on very often anymore but I have dedicated a lot of time to Warbirds. Tonight while in the main arena I got on TS (Warbirds TS). As it approached what would normally be the start of an S3 night it seems anyone who tried to get in the arena did not have the option. The only option was some event that wildbil made "mandatory" at the last minute. The email did not say this was mandatory.

If he is going to dictate what arena I fly in then I will dictate what game I pay for.

Yes. Must agree that it does defy logic when a squad only event is made mandatory for all.. even if you arent in one..!! Not only that but a mandatory update too..

Maybe a trick by WB to try and bolster squad membership by forcing everyone to watch them compete.. Cant think of any other reason this would be... But it sure would be considerate if they added this factoid to the emails and ads they circulated so folks wouldnt have wasted their time on it..

Yeah was a bit weird, was having fun in the MA. game froze and I logged back into the squad thing.
Didn't have clue what the plan was, since I hadn't planned on flying in it, not in a squad either.
Had to do a mandatory update to get in.

I kept getting freezes, so I left. Hope the MA will be more stable. Too bad it was sort of fun in a what the heck am I doing way.

Joining a squadron looks like it is becoming increasingly impossible these days: Just look at the number of pages which turn out to be dead links! I am currently trying to join Duxford Wing but not hearing anything in reply to my request. As for forming your own squadron I have tried that too within the game and guess what ... HOST: Sorry but you are not a member of a squadron on every occasion! So I hope nothing which relies on paid subscribers being in squadrons in order to participate is going to serve as such a restriction from taking part in events.

I will start another thread about how on earth do you form your own squadron as I do not want to hijack this thread by asking that here.
