Might be a power issue. Similar behavior with a desktop about a dozen years ago, wound up being a video card drawing to much power. But in my case crashed to BSOD flying one night. Eventually, I could not even install Windows. No diagnostics showed any problem with the card or installing drivers(when Windows even installed), rendered fine, but it'd blow up again in short order. On an unrelated whim, I took the good fan off of the 4400 I had in the rig and put it on a 4600 that had a dead one. Stuck it in, and Voila!, no more problem.
The web-installer has usually been problematic, for me. Painfully slow and often, corrupted files. I always DL the full version and install.
